Fourteen roofers, one ute to start with.

How it started

Nate Corrigan started Stormbird in 2011 with a ute and one apprentice, in the months after the January 2011 Brisbane flood.

There was more work than roofers, and a lot of it was being done badly. Nate's idea was simple: get on the roof, take photos of what's wrong, and give people a fixed price in writing. Fifteen years later there are 14 of us, all on the payroll, and Bec runs the office.

The name comes from the eastern koel. In Queensland people call it the storm bird, because its call arrives just before the summer rain.

How we work

01 Photos, every time You see what we see, before and after.
02 Our own crew No subbies. The person who quotes your job knows who's turning up.
03 Fixed price In writing, itemised. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice.
04 Clean site We clean up every afternoon and run a magnet over the lawn for screws.
